As Spirit-filled believers the short answer is a resounding … YES!

Let me turn that question around: is there anyone whom Jesus does not want to speak to?

Is there anyone He does not have something to say to?

You and I are the "Body of Christ", we are His hands and feet, His mouth and voice, on earth (1 Corinthians 12:27). The word says ALL may prophesy (1 Corinthians 14:31). NO ONE is above or beneath the gift that encourages, comforts, and edifies the Body of Christ.

As His sheep, we hear His voice (John 10:27). Communication is a skill and learning to listen is an active pursuit, not passive. Our ability to speak a word in season to someone who is weary is limited only by our ability to hear and connect with the Lord.

Paul tells us to earnestly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy (1 Corinthians 14:1). That's scriptural permission to run after and to get excited about working with the Spirit of the Lord, who dwells inside of each of us, to hear Him for ourselves and others.

Questions are key! If you don't already have a lifestyle of asking the Lord questions, I encourage you to cultivate one. Like a young child seeking to understand the world around them, adopt a childlike posture in asking Him LOTS of questions.

Activation: what would Jesus say to the person sitting next to you, behind you, in front of you in church, in the supermarket, shoe store, etc.? If it were just that person, Jesus and you in a room alone together, what would Jesus say to that person to encourage, comfort, and edify them?
